Steep Slope Ordinance: Development of a Steep Slope Ordinance. Ordinance is designed to incrementally restrict development on steep slopes in accordance with the increasing amount of erosion that occurs on steep slopes. Stormwater Management Ordinance: Prepared a Stormwater Management Ordinance for adoption as a Special Area Standard by the Site Improvement Advisory Board of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs. Ordinance includes infiltration, stormwater quality, and site planning requirements. Ordinance has been adopted by other municipalities and is now used as a model ordinance for watershed protection.
Green Acres / Farmland Preservation Surveys: Completed detailed property surveys and prepared deed descriptions in accordance with strict NJDEP requirements for open-space acquisitions. (Chester Township, Washington Township, Harding Township, Morris County Park Commission)
Harding Landfill: Provided technical analysis and support for defense of a third-party remediation claim related to a former municipal landfill. Recommended changes to remediation design to reduce construction costs. (Harding Township)

Design work included retrofitting/upgrading of existing stormwater facilities, design of stormwater quality features, groundwater recharge features, and completion of a site water balance Far Hills Country Day School: Site design for 16,000 sf classroom addition and increased parking, and athletic fields. Project included design of stormwater management facilities, lighting design, and new entrances from a state highway Maplecrest Ford: Preparation of site plans for a new automobile dealership. Plans included a complete redesign of the site drainage system, including infiltration and stormwater treatment Calvary Bible Church Preparation of site plans for a 600-seat sanctuary, all-purpose facility, and associated driveways and parking. Drainage design included stormwater quality improvement features, infiltration facilities, and detention facilities Willow School: Site design for a new 200-student school. Work included all components of site design including sanitary waste disposal, grading, and stormwater management. The stormwater management system included created-wetland stormwater detention basins and the reuse of roof runoff for non-potable bathroom water. All components of the site design were focused on attaining LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification of the Green Building Rating System as developed by the United States Green Building Counc Lucent Technologies: Preparation of plans for a new heliport. Work included grading design, lighting, flight path analysis, and air pollution impact analysis.

Great SwampWatershed Association: Evaluation of surface water impacts resulting from a municipal/industrial landfill in the Great Swamp. Work resulted in the USEPA re-evaluating the landfill for inclusion in the Superfund Program. USEPA subsequently decided to formally add the site to the Superfund Program.
Great Swamp Watershed Association: Served as Technical Advisor to the GSWA as part of a USEP Superfund grant program. Evaluated potential watershed impacts resulting from a former asbestos landfill in the Great Swamp.
Bergen SWAN(Save the Watershed Action Network): Prepared a detailed review of a proposed 134-unit townhouse development on the shores of the Oradell Reservoir. Review identified violations of NJDEP wetland and stream encroachment violations as well as stormwater management flaws. Review also identified violations of NJDEP deed restrictions. Completed corrected drainage calculations for the project. Successfully prevented the issuance of NJDEP permits
Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions (ANJEC): Assessed the impact to groundwater quality of pollutant discharges from a former aircraft facility. Convinced NJDEP to require further groundwater investigation by the facility owner
River Vale Neighborhood Association: Prepared a detailed review of a proposed 240-unit town home development on the shores of Lake Tappan. Review identified violations of NJDEP deed restrictions, errors in stormwater calculations, and violations of wetland regulations. Completed corrected drainage calculations for the project.
New Jersey Conservation Foundation: Completed a detailed assessment of a proposed General Development Plan in the New Jersey Highlands. Responsibilities included assessment of project impacts to groundwater recharge and surface water quality, identification of NJDEP deed restriction violations, demonstration of development impacts on steep slope areas, and depiction of impacts to viewscapes
New Jersey Audubon Society: Prepared site plans for an expansion of existing headquarters facilities. Prepared a stormwater management plan that included detention/infiltration facilities
Jockey Hollow Historic Preservation Association:Provided a detailed engineering assessment and public testimonyin opposition to rezoning for a continuing care retirement community. The subject project was proposed for a previously undeveloped area within a Category I stream watershed
